So many blessings from so many wonderful and encouraging bloggers. It is humbling and bit overwhelming. I have pondered my feelings about these gifts for weeks now, and I have arrived at the following conclusions.
- Awards from fellow bloggers are wonderful ways of showing appreciation and connecting with new and newly acquainted bloggers.
- I love blogging, and awards are some measure of a good blog.
- Receiving an award is an encouraging moment that I enjoy passing on to others.
- So many awards seem good, but they begin feeling like obligations and start taking time away from writing. So to continue giving full appreciation to awards I receive . . .
I’ve decided to limit the number of awards I’ll accept and pass on each month to 3. Any other awards, I will accept with the understanding that I won’t pass them on. I ‘ve reached the limit for March.
Thank you all, both the gifters and those I’ve gifted, for your many, many blessings to me.
Your part of Leslie White’s blog banner is nothing short of gorgeous, enticing and exciting!!
You must be a great singser to keep up with Bocelli!
This post made me smile and smile. So much love and generosity with all these awards.
You play Pokemon games? Seriously?? 🙂
I played Club Penguin with my kid!
My favorite color is Deepest Midnight Blue. But I like black in pants and boots!!
See you soon!
Jannie,
Welcome, and thank you so much for your visit and delightful comment. Leslie’s banner is great. I have enjoyed it sooo much. I don’t know how good a singer I am, but I love trying to keep up with Bocelli. The Italian is a bit difficult. 😉 Yes, I do play Pokemon. I am still trying to collect all the legendary Pokemon for that last game released. It was the best. My youngest and I play together. I look truly forward to your next visit.
Thank you so much Yousie!
rdl,
You’re very, very welcome. 😀
Me got tributes and awards for you!
Since you do not want anymore awards,
I did not nominate you this time,
did I get the message right?
Come over UNEXPECTED GIFTS FROM FRIENDS!
hugs
shakira
Shakira,
Yes you got it right. No more awards until April. My limit is three a month. I’ll be over to check things out soon. 🙂
Yousei, you have a big heart and an abundance of generosity. Thank you so much for The Circle of Friends Award. 😀 You rule. 😀
Tacy,
You’re quite welcome, sweetie. Hope all things are going well for you. I should be by to visit soon. 🙂
OH MY GGGGOOODDD! I am ROLLING with laughter!!! I adored You before this post. I adore You even more after it!!! You are a Rey of Sunshine that I’m certain I’d LOVE to chat with over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine…..
AND I SO AGREE WITH YOU!!!!
The whole awards thing is VERY dear, but VERY TIME CONSUMING! IN all honesty, it is one of the reasons I stepped away from blogging. I was overwhelmed in life as it was, and these awards were circling like WILDFIRE with all their rules and stipulations. I APPRECIATE the Love, and it IS a BRILLIANT networking practice…but…..
These days I just say “THANK YOU!!!” and that’s about it. I REALLY MEAN it, but I know I will drop the ball, so I just let it end there. I even deleted the awards I had posted in my widgets and wrote a not about this. So…..I say THANK YOU!, most BEAUTIFUL YOusei, and ROCK ON WITH YOUR BAD SELF! I raise my glass of lovely pinot noit to You, Goddess Woman! Namaste. 🙂
Blissbeam,
We have to meet someday. I mean, think of all the trouble . . . I mean, intelligent conversation we could have along with that coffee or wine or . . . eggnog. You’re very welcome for the honor and expect no more from me for at least a month. 😉 I’ll just honor you the in my favorite way, by visiting and leaving comments. And just for the record, your the Goddess. I’m just an adoring priestess.
I have an award for you sweetheart xxx

william,
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I’ve already reached my award limit for the month, but I will be over to see your site soon.
Aww, thank you! I know I’ve been a little absent of late. My master’s program is really taking a lot of my brain power lately. I’ve got two new poems that are sort of in the works, so hopefully they will be showing up soon.
P.S. I really like your new header image!
owlren,
You’re very welcome. I remember those masters days. Focus on that and get plenty of rest. I’ll see you when you have time and energy. I look forward to reading the poems when their done. Thanks for stopping in. I like the new banner too. 🙂
I forgot to add I love the layout of your award show, I don’t think I could’ve pulled off so many at once.. It’s really nice and thanks again for the award

Hey Cuzn R,
You’re very welcome. I love the banner too. Glad you could stop by and leave some of your special brand of cheer. 🙂
I have a small award for you, please collect it from my blog: http://mydomainpvt.wordpress.com/best-blog-award/ and make me very, very happy.
With warmest wishes,
trisha,
Thank you for the award, but I have reached my limit for the month of March. I will be by your blog to thank you though. 🙂
Thank you so much for the Beautiful Blogger Award, it came at an unexpected time but perfect timing because I needed something like this. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.
So is my blogging beautiful or am I beautiful? Ha ha ha I’m just kidding.
God bless you for making my day of pain into a day I got an award, forget pain.
SeraphSili,
You are very welcome for the award. I am glad it came at a good time. You and your blog are beautiful, of course. I wish and pray all your pain away, sweet girl.
Thank-you, Yousei.
Leslie,
You’re very welcome. 😀
Thanks for the mention, Yousei 🙂
While it is cheering to have awards, just thinking about how long this must have taken you, (and the poems we missed while you constructed this post instead!) makes your decision to limit the future honours understandable!
B.B.
You’ve said what I wanted perfectly. Thanks for understanding.
Aw, thanks for the shout! And I’m glad that spring is arriving so splendidly… those cardinals are gifts indeed.
Hi Joseph,
I’ve been neglecting my visiting, and I really miss reading your stuff. Thanks for stopping by. Promise I’ll get my Harker fix soon.
Hi Yousei (hey that rhymes right?) dropped in to peek around and enjoyed your haiku and the various tidbits you’ve scattered throughout some of your posts. Will drop in again!
purple,
Welcome. Thanks for coming by, taking a peak, and dropping a line. 😉 I eagerly await your next visit. [Yousei is pronounced “yoe–oo-say-ee” 😯 No worries.
My goodness you are the receiver and giver of gifts (awards). thanks for stopping by my blog. I love yours. You also have a lot of writing info and prompts. I’ll be back.
suzicate,
Welcome. I enjoyed my visit to your blog, and I’m really glad you decided to come by. I look forward to your next visit. 🙂

😉
Jingle,
You are quite welcome. You are an inspiration. 🙂
Yikes! This is like the A-Bomb post of blog awards! LOL!
Buffalo Gal,
Hahahahahahahaha. You are so right. 😀
Yousei
“Wonderful idea for sharing the “Awards” while I love and enjoy receiving them and passing them to others it is time consuming.I’m using your idea and Thanks,”Congratulations” on receiving all of your “Awards” 😀
pttyann,
Thanks for coming by and sharing in the fun. You’re welcome to my idea. I love the heart behind the awards, I just prefer visits and comments, such as yours, to the award itself. Hope to see you again. 🙂
Yousei I am thrilled not only to be your friend but to accept this fine gift which I will treasure, thanks a million and keep smilin xx
William,
You are most welcome, my friend. I’m happy to give others a chance to find you and your poetry.
Dear YH, you are most generous. I want to thank you ever so much for the link love and the sweet awards. I most graciously accept the acknowlegements however I am not going to pass them on. I consider every comment I receive an award. I cherish every word. I hate to sound ungrateful but I am very uncomfortable passing on such awards as so many are passed around. I will tell you 10 things that make me happy… Birding with my Dearly Beloved; Getting phone calls from my children; Visiting family; Having friends over; Being in the garden; Walking with Luna; Shopping a bookstore; Shopping for art supplies; Writing a poem I’m satisfied with;a new sketchbook or diary. I wish you many blessings and again thank you.
You should be very happy with the poem above. It is a keeper and it makes me happy too.
Lisa,
You did this perfectly, and you are not one bit ungrateful. I love all the things in your happy list. 🙂 I am soooo dangerous in a bookstore. 😉 Joy and blessings to you as well.
I consider every comment I receive an award.
Well said. 🙂
B.B.
I agree 100%. 😀
I have also come to find that some of the best gifts come from nature.
I love you how you give so much detail in so few words: )
Flor Gurner,
Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. Have a great day.
Hi, Yousei! Dang, Cuz…you sure are popular! But it’s well deserved, because you’re a beautiful person. Thanks so much for the award. I always enjoy all of the links when someone posts awards, so I’ll have a good time looking through them when I get home from work (lunch time now). I also enjoyed the tidbits about you. Thanks again and have a beautiful day:)
Cuzn J,
Crazy, huh? I’m just glad to have finally taken care of them. There are some lovely blogs in the lists. Hope you enjoy your visits and find some gems of your own. 🙂
I liked reading more items to get to know you better. Love the reading a book a day thingy!!!
You are right about the awards. They are wonderful acknowledgments that can be time consuming and interfere with the very thing the award is for. For me, I decided to thank people for honoring my blog with an award, add it to my collection on my desktop till the day I have a slide show or something and they can be there. But I won’t join the follow the rules stuff anymore. Okay, now I can talk about your haiku today. Love love love it. I can visualize gorgeous colors on this walk and yes indeed they are such a gift. Hugs to you.
Technobabe,
The awards with “tell us about” extras are my favorite kinds. The slide show idea sounds good. I couldn’t do that with dialup. lol. Thanks for stopping by. I really enjoy your visits and comments.
Wow, those are a lot of awards! Great encouragement, but I can see how you’d need to limit. Thanks for the Sunshine Award nomination! I enjoyed your spring haiku. The first glimpses of new buds and crocuses do indeed feel like special gifts. (We are at least a month ahead of our normal spring here in Vancouver, btw, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom!)
Jacquie
Hi Jacquie,
So glad you made it by. I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately. I am sooooooooooo jealous of your cherry blossoms. I have to get a good cherry tree (Japanese). We have some wild cherrys here, but the fruit is inedible and the blossoms are nonexistent (strange trees). We should be getting warmer weather, i.e. rain, this weekend. 🙂 Enjoy your early spring.
Thanks for honoring me by visiting my site and the award…many thanks.
slpmartin,
You are very welcome for the award. I was impressed with your blog and look forward to many more visits. 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS!
I am honored and humbled, thank you for the Happy Award,
you are the sweetest!
hugs
shakira
Shakira,
You are very welcome. Happy is the feeling I get when I visit your delightful blog. Looking forward to reading more of your writing. 🙂
wow. you got your shelf filled…smiles.
thanks for taking us on that walk in your haiku as well. peaceful and warm.
Brian,
I though I was going to have to go to Home Depot to buy more shelves. Whew! 😉 The awards are nice, but I enjoy the visits and comments even more. Here is to more spring walks for all of us.
Why Yousei, you shouldn’t have, but I’ll take it 🙂
Man oh man, you receive a lot of awards and rightfully so for you have a great blog 🙂
I will not rest till you Award the Yousei’s World Famous 80 Proof Eggnog Award and that should also be accompanied by a real sample of your world famous eggnog. 🙂
I’ll be patient and wait for Christmas, but keep in mind I am an old codger and one Christmas may not be around to enjoy it. Maybe there is some great eggnog in the afterlife?
All kidding aside, the thought of it puts a smile on my face. 🙂
Sir Ichabod,
I have not forgotten the Eggnog Award. How could I? It’s your brainchild. I’ve been tampering with design ideas, slight changes to the title, and a few thoughts about the rules. Doesn’t seem like a springtime award though . . . of course, there are lots of things that ought to be celebrated year-round though, right? If you’ve got some ideas, toss them my way. 😉
thanks for the honour. It was really sweet of you to remember me.
i too am compiling all my awards in my wordpress blog. to save time. 🙂
Trisha,
You are welcome, and glad to see you here. Good luck with your awards post (don’t forget–I’m done with awards for March).
