We Write Poems — Holiday Collage

perfect arches ascribe
reprimands, common sense,
mother’s loving glances

hard-edged countenance
only later I see that frown
hid her amusement

sea-scented sunsets
midst hills of waving grass and
green gables still wait

sibling vocal trio
we conspired to see your tears
our disc of your favorites songs

teacher’s loving heart
mother’s firm wisdom–I want
to be just like you

for We Write Poems prompt Holiday Collage

I had grandiose plans for making this a literal collage with poetry scattered throughout the images.  Alas, I am moving this weekend and complete the plan.  If I get it done, I’ll add it to the post then.  Thank all those who tried the prompt.

The last lines brought a smile…recalling days gone by.
