For her birthday, Cara Holman invited visitors to help compose a birthday renku. It was my first time participating in a renku, online or otherwise. There are many participants and many wonderful parts to the renku (basically haiku/senryu and couplets). If such a project prods your curiosity, please visit Prose Posies and enjoy the variety of summer inspired poetry.

So cool. You are very enterprising with all these prompts! k.
K,
You know, sometimes something captures us–like a child wanting attention or a sunset or a song first heard–and we have to respond. Some prompts are like that. Glad you enjoyed the result. 😀
aloha Yousei Hime – i’ve been intrigued by the process of renku. i have yet to attempt to play in one. fun to know you took the leap. fun on and happy birthday days all year long to Cara (i read the Renku on another blog) fun. aloha.
Rick,
Keep an eye open. I’m sure an opportunity will arise. I certainly wasn’t looking for renku when I saw Cara’s post. Thanks for stopping in for some birthday fun.
Thanks for the reblog, Yousei. I’m so glad you took part in the renku. I’ve only been writing linked verse for about a year, and am definitely hooked on it. I’m sure I will be attempting more renku on my blog, and hope to see you back for more!
Cara,
I was delighted to join in. I look forward to your next, so you’ll definitely see a rabbit lingering around your posies.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Rick.
