Margo of Margo Roby: Wordgathering offered this delightful spark to the brain today. She borrowed it from rhymes with tao (you can find others participating in this prompt there). Lynn, in turn, borrowed it from an image on Pinterest. Lynn has the full explanation at her blog (link above), but I think you’ll figure most of it out at a glance. Thanks Lynn and Margo for putting some fun into my slow-moving day/brain.

Yousei, I love your bookshelf, as well as the volumes you picked for this challenge! Especially nice, the origami… Peace, Amy
Amy,
I’m delighted to brag and say that’s only a fraction of my books. I wish I had a library room. It’s rough being a literature major. I’d like to try my hand at that flower origami, but it’s a little advanced for me yet. I’ll get there though. 😀 All done. Went well. I’m back home, sore and resting. Post on the event tomorrow. Thank you so much for your well wishes.
bwahahahaha. aloha Yousei Hime – cool fun. i use to do a version of this with the crawler tv show listings. way too easy sometimes. fun. aloha.
Rick,
I thought it a great idea for the days the brain cells are particularly sluggish. Thanks for sharing.
As usual … you have brought a smile to my face.
Raven,
🙂 I’m glad. I’m really enjoying reading your latest writing. I’m starting to think I should take a study break too. Wait…I already take too many breaks as it is. Keep up the good and getting better work.
That is ABSOLUTELY clever! Wow:)
Jennifer,
😀 Isn’t it. I’ve always been attracted to books (bookstores are my catnip). This idea makes sense to me. If I had a better memory, I’d create stacks of poems on my shelves with all my books. Unfortunately, I’d never remember where anything I wanted was, so alphabetical or subject organization is safer. Thanks for stopping in and sharing in the fun.
Brilliant idea!
I HAVE A VOICE,
Right? I wish it was mine. Let me know if you give it a whirl.
I am following the breadcrumbs from one entry to the site to each of you. What a fun prompt!! 🙂
becca givens,
I thought so too. 🙂 Let me know if you stack something up.
Yousei, yours turned out so colourful. Nice title picks.
Pamela
Pamela,
Thanks. That could be part of it, the of less importance than the words. Thanks for coming by to read. 🙂
Very interesting idea – and I think you did a really cool job with it. (I disagree with your comment above.) K.
K,
Thank you for disagreeing. 😉
ha, this is a really fun prompt…beyond the reach of my shopsticks, i like that…really just the thought of trying to clean up clutter with them, lol…or rabbits using them…smiles…
brian,
It was fun. Makes you think about book titles and what you have on your shelf too. Lots of smiles from the irony of titles and meaning in the book. Fun all around. Thanks for sharing it with me.
inspirational…pure and simple but divine, love the idea! 🙂
Roxie,
Definitely a book-lover’s way of writing poetry, right? Thanks for coming by to enjoy.
I think time to download some ebooks very good list. Thanks for sharing Nonoy Manga
Nonoy Manga,
Make sure you’re really interested in them before you do. Not sure if books on raising rabbits or cleaning one’s house are to everyone’s taste. 😉 Thanks for the visit and comment.
Thanks for the warning. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating. LOL
Nonoy Manga,
True. I’ll leave you to it. 😀
I love it! What is Beyond the Reach of my Chopsticks about?
Lynn,
Welcome, welcome! So glad you came by. I love the prompt (if you couldn’t tell), and I really appreciate your visit. Beyond the Reach of My Chopsticks is a collection of haiku by Fay Aoyagi of Blue Willow Haiku World. The haiku in the collection are hers. The poems on her site are primarily recent (relatively) tanka and haiku she has translated from Japanese. Hope you visit and enjoy her site. She has info on purchasing her book at the site as well.
I have to try this, will get back to you!
sandy,
Yay! I want to see yours too. Let me know when to come by. 😀
Oh, I love the looks of the books you picked, Yousei! Great layering and order!
I gave it a try, too…

🙂
Hannah,
I visited and commented at your place too. Great thinking exercise. Know I have this maddening urge to find a bookstore. 😉
Oh, this would be great fun to play at while in a bookstore!!! Great idea, Yousei!
Hey, there! I didn’t click the original prompt site and so I didn’t realize there’s a mister linky there…in that case I’ll probably just set a link for that place where everyone’s names are already! Sorry. I’m being confusing! lol
No problem. 🙂 I’ll mention that then.
:)!! Thank you!!
That is such a cool idea! I love the result!
Eve,
It is fun. There are even better ones than this out there too. I was too lazy to look further than the bookshelf beside my writing area. 😉 Thanks for stopping in.
Fun, yes? I like the images in your choices. So many. I can see how a ‘regular’ poem might spring from this exercise.
margo,
I agree. Mine felt a bit forced (and self-absorbed), but it was still fun. I really loved a couple of the others (yours included) that have sprung up so far. So…taking up Joseph’s quantum gauntlet?
