Recipe: rosemary mint cake with carob rabbit icing
For the sauce:
Hack up:
one carob rabbit
Then in a haiku pot over a catching fire*:
melt rabbit, slowly adding seven of drops of lemonade luck,
stirring carefully until just disturbed.
Keep warm.
For the cake:
Sift together:
one root chained
whole bottle of extracted almond moon waiting
Add:
two cracked lingering specters
four drops of violet hair color
two and half cups of empusan curves inverted
(the sweetest you can find)
When well blended, pour into a cauldron, side dishes of the mind,
or grandmother’s bundt cake pan
Bake a well-versed poetry oven or Easy Bake
until golden brown and barely writhing.
Consume it however you want:
Let it cool, turn it out on a woman’s dressing table and drizzle with icing…
Scoop it straight from the pan into a bowl with rabbit sauce and cherry blossom ice cream…
or use your wonderful, delicious imagination…
Just don’t forget to lick your fingers.

Welcome. I am delighted to meet you as you journey around Red Wolf Poems blogs. This was indeed a fun poem to write. Rereading it reminds me that I need to have more fun with my writing whenever possible. I wish I could claim the rabbit art, but no, neither are mine. I cannot locate my file which tells me who did the border art–it is probably Hokusai, Hiroshige or kimono art. It might be another artist whose name I am less familiar with. The banner art is by Leslie White. You can find a link to her blog in my blogroll. She very generously painted the art, and my blog has been transformed into home ever since. You really don’t have to write if you don’t have time. I was just afraid people might have missed it since it was kind of late in the week when you posted it. (I think. My days blur together sometimes. LOL.)
Of course your days are a blur. I think you’ve written more crammed into last week than any other week. I could be wrong, but that’s what it felt like when I checked my email updates. 😉 I’m writing as I reply. Your cuteness wins (and I’m not that busy at the moment).

I was using a given list of words this time. The words didn’t seem obviously connected, and I wanted to do something different form-wise. I guess carob and the fact that I’m dieting triggered the recipe idea. 😉 It was fun, that was the main thing. Glad you liked it. Thanks for visiting. 😀

Hilarious! You left out the eager beavers who are being served. They must have booked 1 year in advance or they get to sit in the kitchen and help with the dishes.Those who could come in their wedding dress would get huge discounts. Hilarious LOL!
