We Write Poems Prompt — Trick or Treat

We Write Poems and MiskMask left us a goody for Halloween–celebrate in poetry that darkest and spookiest of nights, in which so many of us delight. Shadows, scarecrows, pumpkins, slivers of moonlight and eerie cackles . . . here is my token for the cauldron.

Masque, Scheveningen

Faceless

Mundane cosmetics habilitate each terpsichore trick–
Anonymity’s satin illusion compulsorily embraced. Whether grotesque or
Semblance godly, livid cloaked troupes treat
Queer, sudoric nakedness with common disdain, cues all
Understand. Slashing deftly, invariably each player hallows
Élan with individuality’s blood and visage, silencing soliloquy for communion eve.

      Poets Rally,
Thank you for the visit. It’s been hard enough to get on and write, much less visit everyone. I’ll do what I can, but sorry, no promises. Thanks for your support and encouragement.
