Baby rabbits in their nest

multi-colored hops
of fur, never still–but still
they wait for mother

We’re enjoying our baby bunnies (pictured below) this week.  Spring renewal is wonderful.  Very best of this day to everyone.

  1. My sister breeds bunnies… some for show, some for eating. I call them “pettable” and “edible.” Me, I like my bunnies live and curious, their noses ever twitching. So glad you keep them, and these pictures were a delight! Thanks for sharing this. Amy

    lovely haiku and bunnies!

  3. You have bunnies!

    They are so desperately cute.

We are not allowed (by law) to keep them in Queensland. But, Oh! to have a baby bunny must be bliss..

Aren’t they cute. 😉 By law, huh? Is that to prevent invasive species? I know cats and hogs have been a problem in Australia. Rabbits could be a real tragedy for native species, eating their food. Still, its a real shame your girls (and you) can’t have any. The stay cute for a long time. I’m partial, of course.

      • Yousei, the fine for keeping them is astounding (into the thousands), but only in Queensland. But visiting farms in the other states, I can see why they have taken strong measures to limit them. They have no real predators here (other than the introduced foxes!) Other states allow them to be kept for domestic pets, and I do sigh a little each time we go inter state and see bunnies everywhere. Cute, they are, indeed!

What a nice haiku! 🙂 We love the bunnies. My girlfriend, Carolyn, is all about bunnies. She has two, Baba, and Seymour. Today, we took Baba to the vet, to get a little “fixin,” done. Anyway, they are very cute creatures, indeed 🙂

So glad you came by. I can’t believe the rushing river of haiku slowed to a trickle, but I’ve definitely missed you. The pic currently on the post is not of my baby bunnies, but I hope to get one up soon–if they’ll cooperate. Don’t be a stranger.
