Static Cat Tales

outside cats slips in
cuddle, stroke thick winter fur–
meOW!  static jolt

under Christmas tree
one cat hides–Tiger paws lights
Sonny bedazzled

Terrible Tara
ninja strikes aloof Tiger–
she is shocked with shame

mistletoe for two–
Fluffy Pepper noses him . . .
frizzled Pepper mews

“Alright, that’s enough!”
All four felines flee, safely
outdoor once again

came here via 47WB… and glad I did. This was quite amusing! =) thanks!

  2. The title! haha It’s all too funny!

    • Yousei Hime says:

Hey dude! Happy to see you. I liked the title too, but really, what else was I going to call it? I’m hoping for some more stories occasionally.

      • I hope so. I love strips. And your haiku captions are unusual, and unusually funny and bedazzling! LOL!

        • I shouldn’t call it a strip, perhaps. But that was a compliment for me to say. According to Wikipedia, “A comic strip is a sequence of cartoons that tells a story, often humorous…”

I don’t see cartoons in any sort of “lesser” than fine art sensibility. It’s all a part.

Oh, you could have called it something else. You gave it an ironic title, which you know, of course! 🙂 Those cats are causing feline mahem and running all over the place! They ARE static! hahaha

Thanks for sharing this! You captured in a few words what most of us experience with our own crazy felines; I love that their personalities shine. Keep up the creative illustrations, they add another dimension.

What a charming story of outside kitty come calling. I like the illustrations too. The haiku about the cats under the tree reminds me of an old kitty that I had that would choose one package every year to sit upon. I knew that I would have to rewrap that gift before giving it to the receipient. Sweet memories.

Thank you so much for your visit and for leaving a comment, sharing your own cat tale. They each have their own endearing personality, don’t they? Thanks again for coming by. Please come again whenever you like.

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Hi Nekochan!
I thought you might like these guys. I’ll get their real photos posted sometime. My kitties are all outside. It’d be crazier than these haikus if I let them in. You are one brave cat momma.

  12. sweetiegirlz says:

I love the illustrations, especially the one where kitty paw is touching Christmas light and the other kitty is bedazzled. how sweet and funny.

    • Yousei Hime says:

Neat flicks with the poetry, Yousei! I love “frizzled pepper mews”! Very creative!

    • Yousei Hime says:

Thanks for stopping by. You should see the real Pepper. She’s a kitten we rescued coming home one day. She’d been bitten and had infection and stuff in her wounds. The only visible sign of her initial injury is one eye staying partially closed and a constant tilt of the head. She’s turned out to be an adorable and loving long haired cat.

  15. OH I LOVE IT! Hey Yousei–haiku cat story book time? wink wink, nudge nudge….HMM this could be something GOOD–
Great Stuff! LOL! “Meow” said the buffalo….lol.

    • Yousei Hime says:

😀 So glad you like it. It’s all because of you, never would have thought of it on my own. As far as the haiku story book, I’ll definitely keep the idea in mind. A month ago I would have shrugged it off as not likely, but so many things are happening. Who knows? 😉

  16. Amity says:

    Wow Yousei;

beautiful words and nice sketches that came with it!

mind if i asked who did the sketches? really cutesy Sis!

    good morning…:)

    • Yousei Hime says:

Thank you. Words and sketches are all mine. I worked on them this morning, at the request of a pesky buffalo. Just kidding–one of my blogger buddies suggested it. I couldn’t resist. Glad you like them. They were a lot of fun.

  17. Technobabe says:

There is an outside cat here that comes through our back yard often. It is still outside, we saw it today. It is a black cat and today it was half white with cold wet snow. I don’t know where this cat belongs and neither do the neighbors but it is definitely an outside cat. I like your static jolt. A momentary reprieve for the outside cats to investigate the mistletoe and then they run back outside. Frisky, playful cats.

    • Yousei Hime says:

We have a few cats that wander on to our property, but most are chased off by our cats or our dogs. Our cats have a door into our garage where (which is attached to our house) where they can come in from the cold. Glad you enjoyed the poems and pictures. Thank you so much for coming by.

  18. kseverny says:

These are wonderful! An artist and a poet!

  21. Tacy says:

These are so artsy and fun! Love them!!

I’m watching you 😯 haha jk.

  22. It’s always best when you can knit haiku together into a story. It gets even better when you include absolutely adorable pictures to go with them! 🙂

I think cats coping with mistletoe is my favorite.

If you leave tracks, I'll find you.
