      Alan,
Welcome. Thank you for the visit and the gift of haiku. I’m honored to have such an accomplished haiku poet visit my humble blog. I particularly like the origami haiku. I enjoy origami as well as cats and haiku. I look forward to visiting your place very soon.

  3. I love cats….and I absolutely was enchanted by your Haiku…lovely….I also went into your blog, congratulations, I love how thoughtful and how sweetly powerful it is…..
    Thanks….

  4. Lisa at Greenbow says:

This is always an insulting jolt. Love the haiku.

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Lisa,
Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. So glad you liked the haiku. I’ll have a haiku story about that cat (requested from a blogger friend) very soon. Come by any time. You are most welcome.

  5. Thanks for the image, which brought a smile on this cold winter day :).

  6. zoya gautam says:

.. don’t know why , but ur poem seems to combine deja vu & joie de vivre

.. for writing this , many thanks ..

  7. Madeline says:

What a wonderful treatment of the prompt! You caught the most enduring part of this experience. Like your haiku, it comes up gently, lulls you into a soft, lush place, and then snaps you into immediate awareness. Really well done. Thank you for sharing this. And thank you for your encouraging words to me. Cheers!

  8. Sandra Leigh says:

Oh, but that haiku brings back memories. Crackling cats. Fear of petting. Heh. Someone should market a lightning rod for cats, don’t you think?

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Sandra Leigh,
Thank you so much for visiting. Lightning rod for cats . . . great idea. You know, I never really noticed a static problem until this year. Thanks again for visiting and leaving a comment. Come again anytime.

  9. Sandy says:

How perfect! Nothing like a sparky cat! I would not have thought of this one.

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Hi Sandy!
I never would have thought of it either if my cat and I hadn’t shared the experience. Funny what one can turn into a poem. Great to have you come by and leave a word!

  10. Anya says:

  11. Amity says:

    Amity

    P.S.

Thanks for your message of congratulations at AO…am now busy with the January prompts…do try your hand at acrostics and i promise to learn some haiku works from you, too…:)

    tyvm…:)

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Amity,
Thanks for the visit. Glad you liked the cat haiku. My oldest and noisiest snuck in the house this morning and is trying to help me type right now. She really love the petting and is always willing to take a joint nap. I would love to try an acrostic or two. Watch for them. Work with a glad heart. So few people can find jobs these days, any job is counted a blessing.

  12. lesliepaints says:

🙂 What a riot! Happening all day today with this cold.

  13. Tacy says:

It is Leroy. We call him Le Roi, the King (he thinks) I am posting a pic of him soon! I took one on my mom’s phone but the internet is being all weird right now. 😀 My mom LOVES your website. 😀

    TTYL,

    Tacy

  14. Linda Jacobs says:

Oh, yeah, been there! I like how you lead in so softly then, bam!

  15. Tacy says:

    Go cats! I’ve got a kitten. 😀

  16. Hi Yousei, not sure quite where to drop this link–so for now I’ll plop it here and you can do with it what you will–including make it go away. But, I saw this photo and could not resist sharing it with you.

    !!!!!!!!!!!
Have you ever seen the likes????

  17. LOL, Tiger the shocking cat!!! OH now that has tons of possibilities!!!
Seriously–Yousei–between the haiku and your post there’s a haiku story waiting to be-come.

    • Yousei Hime says:

      47whitebuffalo,
Thanks for the encouragement. I’m going to shake off this cold and get down to some serious story writing. Don’t let me forget about it! (I will if left to my own devices.)

      • Um,,,some sort of cyber blog postie note is in order? Yosei WILL write story of electric cat all in haiku!
—the Golden Gate by Seth is all in sonnets soooo why not haiku by you-see?

yeah, you can cyber slap me for this…

        • Yousei Hime says:

          47whitebuffalo,
THWACK! Just kidding. Sure, I’ll give it a shot. The nose has not stopped dripping yet, and I don’t feel like doing housework or anything else. Hmmm, actually I don’t usually feel like doing anything else anyway so . . . . Besides a story in haiku sounds much, much easier than a story in sonnets. Whew! Good to hear from you. 🙂

        • Yousei Hime says:

          Kitty Tales await you!

  18. Nancy Bea says:

Yowch…good one! I wonder if this is the first haiku ever written about static electricity?!

  19. Technobabe says:

Hubby and I have been talking about getting a cat at the rescue society so every time I see cat things it attracts me.
Cute and cuddly, the outside cat wanted some cuddles too.

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Technobabe,
I really enjoy my cats. The boys only want so much cuddling. The girls could cuddle all day. Some are very talky, and others just give an occassional meow. I would recommend one. They are less trouble than dogs, in most ways.

  20. stan says:

    don’t you just…
Grew up with cats and know this well.

  21. catgirlslovehaiku says:

My favorite. Of course, you know how much I love haiku about cats. And catgirls!

    • Yousei Hime says:

      Nekochan,
Thought you might like this one. It’s actually happened several times lately. Tiger, the shocking cat, has the softest fur and when I least expect it . . . zap.

If you leave tracks, I'll find you.
