Rose
freshly cut
–painless death–
passes from trembling hand
to trembling heart.
Pressed against printed promises,
it withers, petal by petal.
When the trembling stops,
hand withdrawn,
heart
bleeding,
it
remains

Love the poem’s shape. It is cool when you can form words of a poem to also make a visual picture out of it.
Thanks! I like shape poems, but don’t do them often because I think the shape often distracts from instead of adding to the poem.
You surprise me! Your poem is like receiving an unexpected gift of sun after several rainy days!
Thank you for your bright words and your visit.
I love this expression..it touches me goes right through me
light as a feather..

Thank you. Your gentle words are appreciated. Thank you as well for stopped by and reading a bit. Come by again.
Wow. This gave me tears. Sweetly given. Time passing. Fading. I also had a difficult time reading the last lines…but I LOVED that. Like trying to remember…..like straining through a memory trying to understand what happened…really lovely.
Thank You! Cheers and Namaste.
The poem in the shape of a rose is better than a pressed flower, words do not die or become too brittle to handle.
Thank you. That’s a great way of looking at it.
Quite clever. Hats off.
Thanks Carmen!
I think the shape adds a little to the poem without overwhelming it. I hope.
this is simply divine,
and sometimes caring fingers pick those petals with love and place them in a book or diary, they remind of those two hands which exchanged that beautiful flower .. year after year.
Thank you. I like how this turned out too–so many ways to read it.
I like this very much, Yousei. It was difficult for me to read, the dropping petals, but then I thought that would be true. They are dropping too fast…..very creative. I don’tcut the roses I grow..until time for pruning.
wow! lovely petal/flower-shaped poem! True, it is!
thumbs up Yousei!
